Data protection rules also apply to our communication. This page explains how we store and process your data when providing information, handling bookings and carrying out related administration.

We take the protection of stored data seriously. Personal data is used for the purposes described here. Our optional newsletter subscription also involves the provider Brevo, as explained below.

Data protection information

Purpose of processing

Personal information you provide is processed internally by Chalets-CH – Matthias Kümpel (Switzerland) in the course of normal business, including enquiries, bookings and administrative tasks.

Sharing data

For the purposes described here, data may also be shared with the named service providers. Newsletter delivery is based on your consent; technical provision of the website is independent of it.

Hosting and technical provision

The website is hosted by Vercel. Requests involve technical data such as IP address, requested URL, time and browser information, which may be processed for delivery, security and troubleshooting. Where the GDPR applies, technical provision and security are based on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Vercel privacy policy.

Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights

We use Vercel Web Analytics for aggregated visitor statistics and Speed Insights to measure loading performance and Web Vitals. We also measure selected interactions, such as chalet selections and clicks on booking, contact, newsletter, flyer, map and virtual-tour actions. These custom events contain only fixed categories such as the chalet identifier and the position of the action, never form entries, email addresses, phone numbers or message content. According to Vercel, the measurement records do not identify individual visitors; Web Analytics does not use third-party cookies. Depending on the service, page URL, time, device and browser information, approximate location and performance metrics are processed.

Our measurement filter removes query parameters and URL fragments, excludes guest download and unknown pages, and suppresses measurement events when Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is signalled by your browser. This filter applies to measurement events, not to the technical requests required for hosting. Web Analytics · Speed Insights.

Maps and directions

Chalet pages initially show a local placeholder. The interactive swisstopo map is loaded from the Swiss federal geoportal only after you select ‘Load map’; the geoportal then receives technical connection data such as your IP address and browser information. The separate directions link opens Google Maps, where Google processes data under its own terms. Protected guest guides

After a successful password check, a technically necessary cookie authorises downloads for the relevant chalet for 30 minutes. It contains a signed, temporary access token, not the password. The cookie is restricted to the chalet download endpoint and is not used for advertising or visitor measurement.

Language preference

When you deliberately change the website language, a functional cookie stores the selected language for one year. It contains only the value ‘de’ or ‘en’ and is not used for advertising or visitor measurement. Without a saved choice, the neutral homepage uses the browser's language preference to select German or English.

Storage and deletion

Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary for its purpose or required by statutory retention obligations. The criteria above apply to newsletter data. You may request deletion at any time by email; legal obligations or other lawful retention grounds may prevent immediate deletion.

Access and correction

You may contact Chalets-CH at any time to access, update or request deletion of your personal information.

Matterport virtual tours

Selected chalet pages offer virtual tours from the external provider Matterport. A connection to Matterport is established only after you deliberately start the virtual tour. You can disable Matterport again below the tour. Technical data and usage analytics may be processed and settings may be stored in your browser's local storage.
